Where do I find the care schedule for my Hästens?
It comes with the documents delivered with your bed. If you have lost it, ask your dealer for it with the model number, or sign up above for a reminder.
For owners
A Hästens lasts twenty years or more if you spend a quarter of an hour on it a few times a year: turning and rotating according to the schedule, keeping moisture out and replacing the topper in time. This page has everything you need as an owner, from care to upgrading and moving house — and you can sign up for a care reminder.
The cheapest part of an expensive bed is the care.
Most information about Hästens is about the decision to buy one. After that it goes quiet — while the years that follow decide whether that decision pays off.
A Hästens asks for little, but regularly. Follow the schedule and in fifteen years you will sleep on the same bed as on the first day. Skip it and you get a hollow where you lie every night — and that is not covered by the warranty.
What you do yourself
A quarter of an hour a few times a year, and knowing what the warranty does and doesn't cover.
Caring for a Hästens comes down to three things: spreading the load by turning and rotating the bed according to the schedule supplied with it, keeping moisture out with fresh air and a breathable fitted sheet, and giving the topper attention first because it wears fastest. A quarter of an hour a few times a year decides more than the model how long it stays comfortable.
The topper is the part of a Hästens that wears first, and the part designed to be replaced. If the bed feels softer than it used to, you roll towards the middle, or an impression is still there in the morning, it is usually the topper and not the bed underneath. A new topper gives the bed back much of its original feel.
The construction of a Hästens carries a warranty of up to twenty-five years, and in practice well-cared-for beds reach it. What determines lifespan isn't the material but the care: a bed that is turned and rotated regularly doesn't sink in the place you lie every night. Keep to the care schedule supplied with your bed.
The Hästens warranty runs up to twenty-five years and covers the construction: the frame and the springs. What it doesn't cover is the gradual change in comfort — the slow softening and the hollow forming where you lie every night. That distinction is the most important thing to know about the warranty, and it is where nearly all disappointment comes from.
When something changes
A different model, a second bed, a new home or a new owner.
If you already own a Hästens and want more, there are three routes: a different topper, the cheapest way to change the feel; a different model, for those who really notice the difference in layers; or a second bed, for a holiday home or guest room. Trade-in is up to the dealer, not the brand. Try a higher model for a night first: in a showroom the difference barely shows.
A Hästens can be dismantled and moved, but it is heavy, its edges are vulnerable and the natural filling does not tolerate moisture. Preferably have the dealer or an experienced firm dismantle and transport it, measure the route in the new home beforehand, and never store the bed in a damp unit or garage. After the move, the care schedule simply carries on.
A Hästens arrives in parts and is assembled in your home. The practical question isn't whether it fits in the bedroom, but whether it gets there: stairwell, the turn in the hallway, door width and lift depth are what most often goes wrong. Have the measurements taken before signing, not on delivery day.
Second-hand is the only way to get a Hästens substantially cheaper, but you are buying three things you cannot see: how many nights have been slept on it, whether the bed was turned, and how it was stored. The warranty is as a rule not transferable. Work out the remaining lifespan before judging the discount.
Care reminder
Tell us which model you have and since when, and we'll send a reminder when it is time to turn and rotate it. No more often than needed, and without offers.

First check whether it is in the topper: if the other half is clearly firmer, a new topper is often the answer. If it goes deeper, have your dealer assess it. Gradual settling is generally not covered by the warranty; a construction fault is.
SleepSpa is a sleep spa, not a workshop. For care and assessment, go to the dealer you bought from. If you want to know how another model or topper feels, you can try it for a night with us once we open.
