Our story

Thought up by people who sell these beds

SleepSpa doesn't come from hospitality and it doesn't come from wellness. It comes from the shop floor, where the problem is visible every day.

Anyone working in a bed shop sees it happen every week. Someone comes in for a Hästens, lies on it for ten minutes with their shoes off, a salesperson beside them and three other customers in the shop, and then has to decide on something they will lie on every night for the next fifteen years.

Some decide, and then doubt it for months. Others postpone and never come back. Both outcomes are bad — for the customer, and for the shop.

The problem is not the bed and not the salesperson. It is the setting. A bedroom cannot be judged on a shop floor, any more than a car can be judged in a showroom without a test drive.

So we are building the setting. A place with two real bedrooms, each with one Hästens model, and around it the sauna, the pool and the quiet that turn a decision into an evening. You arrive as it gets dark and walk out the next morning with an answer instead of a brochure.

One brand

Why we limit ourselves to Hästens

A spa with five brands side by side becomes a trade fair. In this segment the interesting question is rarely which brand anyway — anyone who has once lain on a Hästens goes on to compare mainly Hästens with Hästens.

And that is precisely the difference that is hardest to judge. Between the models lies a world, but that world doesn't reveal itself in ten minutes: it is in how you lie at four in the morning. One brand, two models, each in its own room — that question finally gets an answer.

Hästens has been building in Köping, Sweden since 1852, by now for six generations, and has been purveyor to the Swedish royal court since 1952. That craft deserves a better trial than a shop floor.

Where we stand

Honest about the state of things

This is not a running business yet. There is no location, no calendar and no bed being made up for you tonight. What there is: a worked-out concept and a growing list of people and dealers who want it.

We are looking for a place in the Antwerp–Brussels–Ghent triangle, within an hour's drive for most visitors, with room for two suites, a sauna and a pool. Opening is planned for 2027. As soon as the address is settled it will be on this site — and the waiting list gets the first message.
