Grand Vividus
Designed with Ferris Rafauli; more than 600 hours of handwork. The most expensive bed you can order.
More about this bedWhich Hästens model?
Hästens makes thirteen beds in four collections: Masterpiece, Icon, Essential and Adjustable. They range from 28 to 60 centimetres in height and from 1,338 to 2,258 springs. Four Icon beds are identical to the 2000T on the inside; with those, you are choosing the design. The differences in feel lie between the collections, and in the firmness you choose.

— : not included in the catalogue's comparison table. The height of the Grand Vividus and the Vividus is that of mattress and base according to the price list. The beds in the table come in soft, medium, firm and extra firm, and are all latex-free; the Grand Vividus and the Vividus also in extra soft.
What the table doesn't say
The table tells you how a bed is built, not how you sleep on it. More springs and more height give a different feel, not a better feel for everyone. Hästens says so itself about the Herlewing and the 2000T: the brand cannot say which of the two is better.
What the table leaves out often weighs more: the firmness you choose, the topper, your weight, your sleeping position and the difference with your partner. A soft Eala and a firm 2000T differ more from each other than two 2000Ts in different fabrics.
That is why the figures are here, and why we add straight away: you don't decide this with the table. You decide it after a night.
Model by model
Hästens divides its beds into four collections. Masterpiece: Grand Vividus and Vividus. Icon: drēmər, Marwari, Appaloosa, 2000T and Herlewing. Essential: Eala, Maranga, Superia, Excel and Marquis. And Adjustable, the adjustable bed. Four of the Icon beds share the same interior; they differ in design. The real differences in feel lie between the collections.
The Herlewing is the younger sibling of the 2000T: the same triple spring system, but a lower and lighter bed, with 1,708 springs instead of 2,258. Hästens itself says it cannot tell which of the two is better. It depends on which bed your body chooses, and you only find that out after a few hours of lying on it.
The Marwari is a 2000T on the inside, in a coat of its own: the same three spring systems and 2,258 springs, dressed in a chocolate-brown fabric by the Swedish design duo Bernadotte & Kylberg, with a saddle strap along the base and leather details. What you choose here, then, is not a different feel but a different look.
The Appaloosa is the 2000T in a cubist version of the Blue Check, designed by Bernadotte & Kylberg. On the inside it is identical to the 2000T: three spring systems, 2,258 springs, 55 centimetres tall. The name comes from a spotted horse breed. It is a choice of look; if you have lain on a 2000T, you already know the feel.
In 2025 Jack and Solveig Ryde, the fourth generation of Hästens, would have turned one hundred. Hästens honours Jack with a limited edition of the bed he designed: the 2000T Jack Ryde 100 Year Anniversary Limited Edition, with his signature on the bed. Inside is the 2000T, the bed that introduced the Blue Check in 1978.
The Eala is the tallest bed in the Essential collection: a middle mattress on a base, 48 centimetres tall, with 1,338 springs and more flax than most Hästens beds. Hästens describes the feel as firm yet yielding. It is for those who want the construction of a two-part bed without the height and weight of the Icon collection.
The Maranga is Hästens' lightest two-part bed: a middle mattress on a base, 40 centimetres tall, with 1,338 springs and two layers of hand-teased horsehair. The sides are stitched through by hand, which according to Hästens takes two hours. A bed for those who want the construction of a mattress on a base in a more compact size.
The Superia is a low, one-part bed: a 37-centimetre base with two spring systems and 1,370 springs, built on a frame of slow-grown northern Swedish pine. Hästens describes the feel as weightless, as if you sink into it without resistance. It suits smaller rooms well and also comes in a round version.
The Excel is a one-part bed, 36 centimetres tall, with 1,370 springs: light enough to move house with and sturdy enough to last for generations. The legs are height-adjustable and placed so that you don't stub your toes on them. Hästens positions it as the bed to grow up with: for a family, a child's room or a second home.
The Marquis is Hästens' entry model and the most compact bed in the collection: one-part, 28 centimetres tall, with 1,370 springs and two layers of flax in the base. It is the simplest bed Hästens makes, but with the same materials: horsehair, cotton, wool and flax on a frame of Swedish pine. The least expensive way to a real Hästens.
The Hästens Adjustable is the brand's adjustable bed: the head and foot ends rise, operated with one of three remote controls. It is a middle mattress on a base, 43 centimetres tall, with the same natural materials as the rest of the collection. At more than 240 kilos in 180 by 210 centimetres, it is the heaviest bed in Hästens' comparison table.
The Vividus is the masterpiece of the permanent collection: 45 days or 300 hours of handwork per bed, by nine craftspeople, in a dedicated atelier within the Köping factory. Hand-tied springs, screwless timber joints, knot-free pine and oak. Only the Grand Vividus stands above it. At SleepSpa you can sleep on it by special request.
The Grand Vividus is the most expensive bed in the world you can order: a set of mattress, base and headboard, designed with Ferris Rafauli and built by hand in Köping over more than six hundred hours. Introduced in 2020, first bought by Drake. According to the 2026 European list price, it costs € 686,990 in every size up to 210 by 210 cm. At SleepSpa you can lie on it by special request, alongside the 2000T and the drēmər in the fixed suites.
The 2000T, the drēmər, the Marwari and the Appaloosa. Hästens' comparison table gives all four the same three spring systems, 2,258 springs, 55 centimetres in height and the same filling. They differ in fabric, headboard and details.
A two-part bed has a middle mattress on a base; a one-part bed has only the base, with the topper lying directly on it. At Hästens the Superia, the Excel and the Marquis are one-part, and every other bed is two-part.
In the comparison table it is the Adjustable, at 243.4 kilos in 180 by 210 centimetres without topper, because of the adjustment mechanism. The Icon beds around the 2000T weigh about 195 kilos, the Marquis 97.6.
In a showroom you can try them side by side. At SleepSpa you sleep a full night on the 2000T, the interior of four Icon beds, and the Vividus and the Grand Vividus are prepared by special request.
