Where this model sits

The Herlewing belongs to the more heavily built beds in the collection. The principle stays the same as in every Hästens bed — natural fibres, teased in by hand layer by layer — but more layers of horsehair and pocket springs lie on top of each other.

The practical consequence: the bed responds more slowly and over a larger area. You sink further in and it takes longer before it gives its final answer. For one person that is exactly the reason to choose it, for another it is too much of a good thing.

Who it is interesting for

For anyone who has already slept on a Hästens and wonders what happens above entry level. Anyone without that question rarely ends up here — and isn't missing anything.

More layering can also matter for side sleepers with pronounced shoulder or hip width, because there is more material to sink into without the back going crooked. But that is a hypothesis to test on yourself, not a rule.

How to get an honest verdict on this

Not by lying on it in a shop. The difference between this model and a more lightly built bed sits in what happens after a few hours, and that cannot be imitated on a shop floor.

At SleepSpa you cannot sleep on this model: our two suites have the 2000T and the drēmər. What the 2000T is, though, is the bed the Herlewing gets compared to in almost every conversation — anyone who has had that night has the reference point that suddenly makes a showroom visit to a heavier model mean something.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between the Herlewing and the 2000T?

Mainly the number of layers of horsehair and pocket springs, and with it how deep you sink and how slowly the bed responds. Whether that difference means anything for your body varies from person to person — and cannot be judged in a showroom.

What does a Hästens Herlewing cost?

Prices depend on size, base, legs and fabric and are quoted per configuration by the dealer. Ask for it in the same configuration as the model you are comparing with, or you are comparing two different things.
